Last year, over $2,000 library books were destroyed in the houses lost in the Angora fire.

This year, we’re coming together again to help raise money to replace them and a few other community projects.

To enhance the physical rebuilding in the area, the Tahoe: Lost & Found Fund is a community-based fund raising effort for the following community projects, in order of priority:

  1. To replace $2,000 worth of library books lost in the fire.
  2. To replace the burn area’s neighborhood Christmas tree.
  3. To bring forth the idea to city/county officials and the local community to build a commemorative labyrinth on the South Shore.

(Please note that, if so deemed, any and all extra $ in the fund will go directly to the Angora Fire Fund.)

Raising $ for the Fund:

Tahoe: Lost & Found Art Auction, Aug 1 – Sept 19

The Tahoe: Lost & Found Art Auction will run August 1 – September 19. Artists and creative locals from all over the lake and Truckee are invited to participate in the juried art show. Any canvas/medium can be used like paintings, photos, ceramics, even bikes! 40% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Lost & Found Fund.

All art will be showcased here on TAMC, giving interested owners a chance to see it before the formal bidding at the Art Auction to be held Friday, September 19, at Valhalla in South Shore.

Community Events and Special Fundraising Promotions

Everyone in the community, including North Shore and Truckee, is encouraged to hold an event or business promotion this summer like wine tastings, dinners, kayak rentals, bike rentals, art shows, lodging packages…you get the idea – using the Tahoe: Lost & Found theme with a % of the proceeds going to the Lost & Found Fund.

This is a great way to show the world that Tahoe is open for business and still thriving 1 year after.
