The imagery of long time local and world travel photographer, Chris Talbot, will be on display at the North Tahoe Event Center through the end of September.
To celebrate this exhibit and Lake Tahoe’s unique mountain culture, an event will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 with some proceeds going to the North Tahoe Regional Park Friends of the Park Fund. This is the third year Chris has given back to his roots.
This all film exhibit is an array of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and International scenes on canvas. This new exhibit will include International scenes from Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Panama. Rural Nevada will be a new subject as well as the always popular Tahoe panoramas, trilogies and single pieces.
Chris uses both a Mamiya 7II 6×7 rangefinder camera and a solid Nikon F5 35mm to capture “the color”. Fuji Velvia 50 is the FILM of choice and he does not “shop” images or use any crafty new digital photography methods.
“I don’t like changing what was put in front of me by God. That is not my job,” says artist Chris Talbot.
Chris has lived in North Lake Tahoe for the past 34 years. As a Tahoe based travel-resort-landscape-wedding photographer Chris Talbot has been aiming his lenses at beautiful subject matter for twenty-five years. He has traveled to over 29 countries and spends three months of the year based out of Saigon, Vietnam. Chris says, “My job is easy. Capture beautiful images and show the world. I’m a lucky man.”
More information on his Photography is available at his website www.talbotimages.com. Also, look for the Lake Tahoe Tube (lithographs) at numerous Lake Tahoe Retail outlets.
The public is invited to visit the North Tahoe Event Center during normal business hours to view the art on display at no charge. The North Tahoe Event Center has partnered with North Tahoe Arts and the Art in Public Places program to provide rotating art exhibits available to the public. The Center hopes to provide a more inviting atmosphere through the showing of artwork with a connection to the North Tahoe Community, either through the artist or content of the work.
