Talk about keeping it real. The annual Highway 50 Wagon Train rides through South Lake Tahoe first weekend of June.

Sunday they’re riding from Zephyr Cove, Nevada to Amacker Ranch in Meyers (a South Lake Tahoe hamlet), California.

Would you like to ride in a wagon?

Here’s how to qualify.

  • Any experienced rider who owns a horse or borrows one.
  • Any experienced teamster with a Team and Wagon or Buggy (must be an authentic replica – no rubber tires or plastic.)
  • Anyone wishing to ride in a wagon as a passenger and willing to dress in period attire.

Take a step back through time and relive the adventures and rigors of the early pioneers as they forged their way west with this historical reenactment of the “Great Western Migration.”  The Highway 50 Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to horse and wagon enthusiasts, and the historical reenactment of the “Great Western Migration”.
