O’Neill will share his experiences at this free event as part of the Alpenglow Winter Speaker Series.
Between the San Juan mountains of Telluride CO and the Sierra Mountains of California, O’Neill took advantage of the biblical winter of 2016-17 by skiing some of the most legendary lines in the lower 48. This was just training for O’Neill’s ultimate first descent of the 21,125-foot Peak of Evil in the Punjab Himalaya of India in May followed by her bold ski descent of the Messner Coulior and a 5-day climb of the 8000-foot Cassin Ridge on Denali.
This is a FREE event and everyone is welcome. As with the other presentations, there will be an awesome raffle following the show with all proceeds to benefit the Tahoe Food Hub.
The Alpenglow Sports Winter Film Series is designed to inspire, motivate and educate the Lake Tahoe community. The series runs from November through February and is free to attend. Prizes from industry sponsors are raffled off at each show to raise money for local non-profits including: the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance, Sierra Avalanche Center, Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, the Tahoe Food Hub, the Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe and Squaw Dogs. Each show regularly raises $6-8,000 for local non-profits, and to date the series has raised over $120,000. Most importantly, attendees are exposed to the vital community initiatives of the hand-chosen partner non-profits.
