Eric Larusson is a nurseryman hell-bent on spreading the gospel of mountain gardening with missionary zeal. He’s worked in production and botanical greenhouses, in vineyards, orchards, wholesale and retail nurseries, estates, in landscaping, re- vegetation, restoration and even Christmas tree production since the early 1970s.  He’s one hell of a dad too.

Eric is just one of three biological scientists who own and operate The Villager Nursery in Truckee. Sarah Trebilcock and Rob Van Dyke are the co-owners and have been together since 1975.  All three are avid gardeners and thrive on the challenges of the tough Truckee-Tahoe climate.

Eric holds a bachelors in Molecular Biology / Botany and also a Bachelors in Agriculture / Horticulture and is an ISA certified Arborist.  Sounds slightly qualified!

The Villager Nursery has been offering gardening classes since 1985 on a wide variety of changing subjects. Throughout the year, Eric, Rob and Sarah hold seasonal and topical gardening seminars and workshops on a variety of topics, many free of charge, so you can learn from their trials and errors.

As they put it… “We have years of personal and vicarious mountain gardening experiences to share and we’ve killed thousands of plants in our own gardens already.”
