Sara Zimmerman’s art for 2009 reflects change.
In her “Woman in Raw” series, Sara’s works reflect her story of becoming a mom, balancing motherhood and sanity, her love for her daughter and family, life’s struggles, moving to a new city, etc.
All works are done in multiple layers on large, unstretched canvas, mimicking the layers and rawness of life.
These pieces are very large and are hung like tapestries from clips. Since Sara recently uprooted and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, she wanted her works to mirror this by being easy to move themselves.
