Tahoe: Lost & Found is a community art show and art auction open to all Tahoe-Truckee artists.
Due date for submissions is July 28, 2008.
One year ago, the Angora Fire transformed our small community – energized us and brought us together.
“Tahoe: Lost & Found“ is an art show & auction intended to build on that sense of strength, and as a way to check in with those folks and firefighters who are still out there putting their lives back together one year later.
The show’s theme is to capture our sense of what was lost in the fire, as well as what we found: in ourselves as individuals; as a community; and in the landscape.

Chosen work will be featured in an online gallery here on the Tahoe Arts and Mountain Culture website from August 1 through September 19, and the Auction Catalog for the Lost & Found Art Auction to be held Friday, September 19, 2008 at Valhalla at the Tallac Historic Site in South Shore.

This is a juried show and is open to all Tahoe area residents, including the North Shore and Truckee. It is open to all media, and you are enthusiastically encouraged to think outside the box! Inspire us with your vision, whether it’s in wood, on canvas, or something more eclectic… like a snowboard, bicycle, wind surfer, recycled wood – any type of art medium is encouraged – as long as it reflects the theme.
All work submitted must be for sale. 60% of the sale price goes to the artist. 40% will go towards the Lost & Found Fund, which is raising money for local, fire-related causes including the replacement of library books lost in the homes affected by the fire.
A non-refundable fee of $20 enables each artist to submit up to 3 works; additional works may be submitted for $5 each. Please be sure to include the starting bid for each piece submitted. A standard guideline is 50% of the normal asking price.
Complete the entry form and return it, along with a check or money order for the required fee. Deadline for entries is July 28, 2008. The entry form and images are due July 28, not the actual art pieces.
