Art in the Morning by Kit Night is a charming, sometimes insightful, mix of oil paintings and musings on nature, jazz, beer, and the process of painting.  You’re invited to join Kit on her adventure to embrace beauty.  Shown here is obviously one of Kit’s favorite pastimes, Morning Kayak.

“With turquoise and blue waves gently slapping against the side of the kayak, pushing off into the big body of mountain water is an invigorating and calm way to start the work day.

Trading sleep for alpine peaks, bobbing ducks, dipping gulls, and the occasional hot air balloon overhead is pretty darn swell. With those visions following me through the rest of my day, it makes work not seem like work.  I’m hooked.” Kit Night

It all started in 2011.  Kit wanted to add a little art to start our day.  A little kick start to remind us why we love this place, our home.

Now, instead of looking up those 52 weeks of moments in your email, Kit has created a lovely book – a 8” x 10,” with a linen hard cover and dust jacket, with 110 pages of spectacular 52 color plates and 6 color photos.

To order “Art in the Morning” please email Kit at Kit@KitNight.com. For more info, please visit KitNight.com.  There is no ‘K” in Night.

Following is her account of Mountain Chickadee, just a taste of what you’ll find in Art in the Moment:

“Nature’s winter mascot in our neck of the woods is the Mountain Chickadee. Their chirps and tree trunk acrobatics animate our forests all year long. But their little round warm-gray bodies and dashing eye slash bring a particular warmth and charm to a peaceful winter scene. They’re content in their quiet industry and good ambassadors of the season.” –  Kit

About once a week, Kit emails a painting, hot off the easel, to opt-in subscribers enjoy to enjoy with their cup of coffee, tea or chocolate before you dive into your work day.  It’s just a moment to relax. Kit wants to make art a part of our every day lives. She believes that all of the arts should get out of the cloisters and into the moment. Any moment.

Kit invites you to share your cup of daily art with your friends. They can simply send Kit an email at Kit@KitNight.com with “Please Add” in the subject line.

And, be sure to visit www.KitNight.com to learn more about Kit, her amazing artwork and her exhibit schedule so you can see her in action and purchase her art.

Morning Light on the River’s Edge

“I brought my easel to the bank of the river to catch the morning sun as it came over the mountain in this corner of the valley. In stocking cap and sweater, I savor this peaceful time. Birds dart from cool shadow into splashes of sunlight. I always thrill at the sound of hummingbird wings. I try to work fast in the quick-moving light.

The colors shift from cool blues, grays and lavenders to greens, reds, yellows and orange. Brooding reflections on the river become silver bits of glimmering light.

The only thing that could’ve been better would be to have slept on the bank under the moon and awake to this view over the edge of my sleeping bag.” Kit
