Literary publication seeking local talent by October 1

Edge is a literary journal published each winter featuring provocative fiction, poetry, essays, and art.
The publishers are seeking works by local artists and writers for their third journal coming in 2009.
The publishers of Edge appreciate a variety of styles and their tastes are eclectic.
To best understand their philosophy, they refer to this quote from the late Hunter S. Thompson: “The edge…there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.”
To be considered for Edge 2009, please find submission guidelines below, and a complete list at www.laketahoewritingclub.com
- Submissions accepted through October 1st.
- Send up to 6 poems or 5,000 words of prose.
- Novel excerpts should be self-contained.
- Contributors receive two issues of the journal.
- Simultaneous submissions are okay; please label as such and let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere.
- We are currently accepting submission via post or email. If emailing, please identify “EDGE submission” in subject line and send to: Submissions@LakeTahoeWritingClub.com.
- Text submissions must be attached as a Word doc: do not submit with doc.x extensions.
- Generally, we respond in 4-6 weeks; please allow us at least a couple of months before querying.
- If mailed via post and accepted, a MS Word file must be provided.
- We usually aren’t excited about genre pieces (horror, children’s, romance, etc.) unless they’re really unique and strongly written.
- Sample issues of journal can be purchased for $15. We strongly recommend reading a past issue of EDGE.
