Besides reducing fuel loads, here’s another great incentive to get rid of your wood roof.
Wood Roof Mitigation Grants.
This grant program offers homeowners located within the boundaries of the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (Incline Village and Crystal Bay) the opportunity and incentive to switch out their wood shingle roof with a Class-A non-combustible roof.
In return, the homeowner would be given one full day (9 hrs) of a three member fuels reduction crew to assist in creating 100′ of defensible space around their home.
