So you’re interested in holding a Tahoe: Lost & Found event or fund raiser.
Great!
It’s easy to do.
Just let your imagination roll.
Here are some ideas to get you thinking.
Simply hold an event, create a special twist to what you are already doing, create a piece of art or donate a Made in Tahoe product for the Art Show and Auction, or donate a % of your sales to the Tahoe: Lost & Found Fund.
Besides supporting the community projects, your event, special, art, or donation will be featured here on TAMC on all summer long.
Some ideas:
• Open Mic Night - The Lake Tahoe Writing Club held a fundraiser for Tahoe: Lost & Found on June 25 at Valhalla that allowed the community to share their stories and make donations.
• Pizza Bake-Off - Help replace John Mauriello’s lost pizza recipe. This could be done like a chili cook-off…with John as the judge? Maybe the pizza restaurants in town could hold the event with a % going to the fund.
Rumor has it, Mike at Grass Roots is going to bake a 3-alarm pizza to help raise $ for the fund. Stay posted.
• Benefit Concerts - As a follow-up to the Angora Benefit Concert, maybe local bands would like to donate a % of their summer concerts or gigs to the Lost & Found Fund?
• Fashion Show - Invite people to show off their best fire-donated duds! Or maybe you have a clothing shop and just want to showcase your new items…and donate a % of sales to the fund like Kelly and Felix at Gaia Licious did last year…
• “Fiery Food” - Put together a Spicy Food Tasting and invite the firefighters!
• A Fire House special like Firefighter Fries or Tahoe: Lost & Found Turkey Melt.
• Drink specials and dinner specials using the Lost & Found theme.
• Massage specials - like Massage at Tahoe.
• Kayak rental specials
• Bike tune up specials
• Hug-a-Firefighter tent at the Farmer’s Market
• Art events…
You get the idea. All the $ will go to the Tahoe: Lost & Found Fund.
