“I love strong colors. I tend to be attracted to subjects by seeing the color first and the subject second.”
Justin Baer, South Shore photographer.
That perspective is evident in her photo here of a boathouse.
Justin has lived in Tahoe since 1978. She and her husband have raised their three children here.
In her own words:
I started my interest in photography at the Local Junior College in 1997. I have been shooting ever since. I am attracted to strong color, graphic images, and abstracts.
I once read a note that said that the role of a photographer is to take the ordinary and make it into something extraordinary. That is what I like to do through the medium of digital photography. Capturing, the natural beauty of the Lake Tahoe area is a constant challenge to me.
A long-time local, Justin’s favorite places to eat are downstairs at the Fresh Ketch and the Red Hut for breakfast. (me too) Her favorite areas are along Hwy 89 where she says “the ‘old’ Tahoe feel is alive and strong.”
