Meet Carole Sesko, contemporary artist from Truckee.
Coming from an architectural design background, Carole Sesko’s artwork utilizes a variety of coloring and layering techniques to explore our collective experiences of time and place.
In her own words:
My artwork explores our collective experience of being at this place in this time. Through reflecting on our common heritage, I present ideas about where we are in this moment, and where we may be going in the future.
Despite the proliferation of mass produced imagery in our world today, I continue to create original art which is one of a kind and made with my own hands. By mixing recycled materials with new, I often juxtapose familiar objects to create new context and spur new thought.
Though I have a specific message in mind, viewers often interpret the image relative to their own thoughts and experiences, which creates a new dialogue. My series work includes themes revolving around aerial landscapes, pursuit of excellence, form and color, structure and rhythm, and monochromatic compositions with emphasis on texture.
