Vessels and Boxes
On exhibit will be creative art pieces that are or imply the idea of boxes or vessels. A vessel is a craft, a concave bowl or container, an artery or duct, a person or thing regarded as a holder or receiver. One painter considers the landscape a vessel, and she notices concave forms in landscapes and imaginatively exaggerates them in her paintings.
On the other hand, a box is a receptacle, a container, an embrace, a trunk, a package, a prison, a shelter, a frame. A box can make a person can feel boxed in, or packaged, or protected. It can keep something out, or keep something in. It can be used for carrying or storing. Boxes and vessels are also simply intriguing shapes.
The exhibit will feature works by Truckee artist Audrey Dygert, along with Sharri Lou Casey, Sandy Hetzel, Barbara Pulver, Sandy Sergott, and Pam Sutton.

Laura Stout, Director of TCNS, writes “TCNS has been established in our community for 43 years. We are a non-profit organization that provides a fun learning environment for 3 and 4 year old children. The children of TCNS have been working so hard all month to create beautiful art to show the community what talented artists we have at such a young age. The little artists have created sculptures, prints, free paint art, and photography. Please come check out the children’s art!”
