What a great story.
Two lives devoted to helping others and the planet.
And, we can all participate in a fun and educational shopping adventure next time your in Truckee.
While backpacking in South America, Michael and Heidi fell in love with the local artists and their crafts, and quickly developed a deep appreciation for the world’s cultures. It was at that time, they decided to help developing countries through economic development and education.
Fast forward to Truckee and their new shop: Fair & Green.
Combining their passion for sustainability, crafts and equity, Michael and Heidi have transformed a historic home built in 1910 into a showcase of some of the most unique crafts from around the world that you’d normally find in a big city. Like the Zulu Telephone Wire Baskets. The prices are more than reasonable, even more so when you consider the time and creativity invested. And, the best part, Fair & Green gives 1% of every purchase to a non-profit of your choice.
Heidi and Michael are committed to making the art and gifts affordable in their store so we can help world communities preserve their culture and way of life while earning a fair wage.
