The Great Ski Race

Tahoe City to Truckee - 18.43 miles!

For more info and to register, click here.

The race course is machine-groomed with skating lanes and double tracks the entire 30 kilometers (~18.43 miles). Starting the night of Feb 26 (Tues) through race day, the entire course will be fully groomed each night so everyone can practice.

The Great Ski Race is the main fund raising event for the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team, a non-profit all-volunteer organization. Race proceeds are used primarily to purchase equipment for the Team, and to support winter survival and avalanche education programs sponsored and conducted by the Team.

Race Profile:

The 30 kilometer (~18.43 miles) course begins at Lake Tahoe, climbs out of the Tahoe Basin over Starratt Pass, and heads to historic Truckee on a long downhill run along Sawtooth Ridge.
