The Style of Odds by South Shore Writer

dandc.JPGMany in the snowboarding industry recognize the diligence and dedication it takes to become supreme at the craft of the path chosen.

The “Eddie Wall” story, the guy who scrubbed dishes to the top, the most humble individual and truly genuine human, made it to the big-time (and kills it in whatever he does, might I add) with perseverance amidst the struggle to subsist and do what is purely soul-satisfying. This remains as ‘back-ground-work’ for those who want to achieve some acclaim from dues paid.

Being gracious, having a hard work ethic gets the ‘ice’ and the ‘cake’. You can’t start with the icing on the cake right out the gates. The odds will stack against your favor and collapse before you sight. The line that separates having food on the table, living check to check, versus the all out risk, surfing the waves of many Hide-A-Beds and Bouches (bed-couch) is pale and apt to get caught in the ‘laze’ motion, part dazed and all lazy. Those who are posing the image and getting caught up in the scene, attempting to materialize as the next great with the fake-flash, without any creative-competence, at the expense of physical or mental destruction, play as high odds at attaining breakdown and disappointment.

danol_snow1.JPGIt’s possible to make the ‘magz’ and the ‘tele’ by taking the leap of faith and living on the grime—you just have to realize your real skills and honest talents. If risk amounts to nothing it may at least make for interesting tales to yarn about in later years when regrets kick in and have contained your soul’s essence, suppressing the celestial experience.

Doing doesn’t mean seeming as a professional but doing what you can do at least with style and pizzazz. Read the table and check the odds, go for what you do with passion or stay and watch on the sidelines with the rest. The rides aren’t free and what dreams may be revealed will shine on the shoulders that carried the weight to get you there. And desperate money, never wins. Believe that!
