Relieve congestion with Horseradish Salad

Fight stuffy noses and chest congestion with a fiery helping of horseradish, hot sauce, or hot peppers.
Consuming these zesty items not only allows you to taste something you’re eating, but also encourages the congestion lingering in your sinuses, head, and chest to loosen up.
The next time you’re feeling stuffy, whip up a big batch of our spicy Chicken-Horseradish Salad.
Ingredients
- 3 cups chopped cooked chicken (about 4 skinned and boned chicken breast halves) - buy rotisserie chicken from your local Tahoe market
- 1/2 cup minced green onions
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- 2/3 cup light mayonnaise
- 2 to 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Preparation:
Stir together all ingredients in a large bowl. Cover and chill at least 2 hours before serving.
Makes 5 servings (serving size: 1-cup)
