“Writing helps me make sense of the world…I see writing as a way to figure out how I feel about things.” says Suzanne Roberts, Tahoe poet and author, in a recent interview.
Roberts was interviewed in February 2007 by R.K. Bijuraj in Kochi, India during her sabbatical from teaching English at Lake Tahoe Community College and managing a prolific Writers’ Series.
A lover of travel and the study of women’s connection with nature, Suzanne’s poems, stories and essays delve into her personal life experiences and observations. She says her poems are more like narratives since she loves to tell stories as illustrated in her two poetry collections, Shameless and Nothing to You.
An accomplished author, Suzanne has been published in several American and Canadian literary publications. She is currently working on two manuscripts: Closer to Here, comprised entirely of travel poems, and her memoir Almost Somewhere: 28 Days on the John Muir Trail.
