coreyrichphoto.jpgFilmmaking in Tahoe is going big. Tahoe’s rugged beauty naturally inspires many to capture their adventures and passion on film.

Now, a favorite local event hopes to solidify Tahoe as a breeding ground for future young filmmakers.

The Tahoe Future Filmmaker Fund

Created by the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival, the Tahoe Future Filmmaker Fund is designed to encourage and support high school level adventure filmmakers through internship possibilities, exposure, and financial funding.

Festival promoter, Todd Offenbacher, hopes the community-based fund will inspire more local action and adventure sports films by young artists.

Film submissions from Tahoe and Truckee high school students are eligible to compete for the fund sponsorship package. To start, a clip of the winning film will be shown at the 5th annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival held on December 15 at Montbleu.

And, it gets even better. The winning film’s school video arts department will receive $500 along with student internship possibilities with Resorts Sports Network TV.

Film submissions are due November 16.
