Winter in Lake Tahoe is unlike anything else.
You have to experience it to understand this life transforming place.
Here’s a try:
Tahoe is a ski town. A very big ski town.
18 ski resorts spread around one big, blue lake. 72 miles of shoreline dotted with over a dozen neighborhoods, each with its own personality and one thing in common. A desire to be in the mountains - in Lake Tahoe - nowhere else.
Here, you’ll find the locals. The core of Tahoe’s mountain culture.
The adventurers. Stewards. Entrepreneurs.
- Our favorite channel is The Weather Channel. Or, the local ski report by locals who ski daily.
- Our favorite clothing is layered and whatever goes with a goggle tan.
- Our favorite events are the opening of a friend’s new art gallery, ski movie, adventure slide show, animal fund raiser, local band, new restaurant, yoga on the beach or a community gathering.
- Our favorite pastime besides skiing is eating and drinking, especially coffee, with friends.
- Our favorite thing to do comes naturally. We recycle, re-use, conserve, ride bikes, carpool, take the bus, buy local, build green, and create new ways to protect this place.
- Our secret to skiing all day, 7 days a week is healthy living.
- Our inspiration and connection calls us outside to marvel at its beauty and to travel around its shores to remember all the reasons we chose this special place.
If this sounds like you, you belong here. No matter if it’s a day, a week, or a lifetime.
